New Publication: Pharm-InSIGHT 2023
The presented publication follows the regular monthly analyses of the pharmaceutical market PHARM-InSIGHT, which we have been issuing since 2022 and have gained great popularity among professionals in the field of drug policy and healthcare. This publication provides a comprehensive analytical overview of the pharmaceutical market in 2023, encompassing various perspectives on drug consumption and expenditures, as well as the availability and inclusion of new drugs and indications in the reimbursement system in 2023, based on publicly available and requested data from state authorities.
In the publication, you will find a selection of the most interesting analyses, which can be useful for planning and strategic decision-making purposes in pharmaceutical companies and healthcare institutions, and can also be beneficial for various presentations about the pharmaceutical market in Slovakia. The publication also includes specific analyses that help evaluate the inclusion of innovative drugs in the reimbursement system, such as analyses of the “age” of drugs, or the introduction of “orphan” and ATMP drugs.
Included are also statistical outputs of the assessment and decision-making processes of NIHO and the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, analyses of the duration of proceedings and their success rates, and for unsuccessful proceedings, the main reasons for not including drugs in the reimbursement system. Another interesting aspect is the view on expenditures for drugs not included in the ZKL, and as a current topic is the availability of drugs, a brief statistics on drug supply shortages in Slovakia is also included. Considering the legislatively mandated obligation to reference drug prices, a comparison of selected drug prices with other countries can also be beneficial.
